Forensic Magazine®,
a Vicon publication, has received a 2006 "Tabbie" award
for editorial excellence in a contest organized by the Trade Association
Business Press International (TABPI).
Amherst, NH (PRWEB)
July 7, 2006 -- Vicon Publishing, Inc. announces that Forensic
Magazine®, the source for technology, trends, products and
solutions for forensic professionals, has received a 2006 "Tabbie"
award for editorial excellence in a contest organized by Trade
Association Business Press International (TABPI). "Life in
a Disaster Morgue", by Douglas Page, won an Honorable Mention
in the Feature Article category.
With more than 800
entries received from North American, European, and Asian publications,
competition for the 2006 "Tabbie Awards" was particularly
strong this year, according to TABPI. Complete results, along
with selected comments from the judges and samples of the winning
entries, are available at www.tabpi.org.
"It's always been
important to us to provide our readers with relevant, real-world
information in a practical and useful manner," said Vicon
Publishing president Patrick Murphy, who is also the publisher
of Forensic Magazine. "We are happy to have our efforts consistently
recognized not only by our subscribers and advertisers, but also
by trade organizations such as TABPI."
"We are especially
proud to be recognized for an article which highlights the special
group of forensic professionals who left their own lives behind
to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina," said Christine
Janson, Chief Editor of Forensic Magazine. "Congratulations
to Doug Page who delicately covered the technical, physical, and
emotional challenges they faced."
It is the second year
that Vicon Publishing has participated in the annual competition,
as well as the second year in which Forensic Magazine has been
recognized. (In 2005, "Chemical Safety in the Forensic Lab,
Parts I & II", by Vince McLeod, CIH and Glenn Ketcham,
CIH, won an Honorable Mention in the Regular Column category.)
