Empowering Latina Entrepeneurs

Creating a life in the business world

Washington, DC--April 19, 2006--In today’s cutthroat economy where more than half of attempted business ventures fail, potential business owners need as much help as possible. LATINA Style Magazine has acknowledged this fact and has set a goal to help educate potential Latina entrepreneurs through a series of conferences called the LATINA Style Business Series. The future Latina entrepreneurs need to master certain skills that will help them prosper in the business environment. LATINA Style sees a need for a mentor and as a result, provides a story of success with keynote speaker Rodri J. Rodriguez who will be addressing the audience at the San Diego Conference on April 21, 2006 at the Bahia Resort Hotel.

Rodri J. Rodriguez is President & CEO of Rodri Entertainment Group, an international entertainment production company founded in 1976. Through her company, Rodriguez spreads the essence of Latin Culture through events such as the Mariachi USA Festival and the Standing Ovation Series. The Mariachi USA Festival performs at many venues throughout the country frequently in front of sold out shows. The Festival gained the public eye this year when it was televised nationally on PBS. The Standing Ovation Series is a compilation of concerts featuring well-known artists within the Latin community.

Rodriguez takes an active role in embodying the company’s motto: “entertainment from the heart.” She takes an active role with the Hollywood Arts Council sponsoring programs such as Project Sonar. Project Sonar serves elementary school children in the Hollywood area after school. It helps kids discover the power of the arts through a series of workshops. The mission of Project Sonar is to enforce productive work outside the classroom and to stimulate the creative minds of the youth.

Rodriguez immigrated to the United States along with 14,000 other children from Cuba in the early 1960s during the “Peter Pan” exodus. From an early age, Rodriguez learned the qualities of independence and self-reliance that she has used in her later life. Through all of her experiences, Rodri J. Rodriguez has proved herself an excellent businesswoman and successful entrepreneur.

LATINA Style Business Series is a one-day sponsored conference that seeks to empower Latina professionals and business owners. By bringing people together with key corporations and agencies, there is a diffusion of knowledge providing goods, services, and essential information that are most needed by today’s entrepreneur.
