Continental
Airlines Announces Partnership with National Association of Hispanic
Publications
Houston, TX--(HISPANIC
PR WIRE)--January 23, 2006--Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) and
the National Association of Hispanic Publications (NAHP) have
announced a partnership that will give Continental “Official
Airline” status for the NAHP’s 2006 membership campaign
and events.
“The NAHP member
publications not only are the voice of the Latino community, they
provide a connection to the Latin American homelands of many of
their readers,” said Pete García, Vice President,
Latin America, Continental Airlines. “As the second-largest
U.S. airline to Latin America and the Caribbean, Continental shares
the NAHP’s interest in Latin America and Latinos in the
U.S.”
The partnership consists
of Official Airline status for:

National Membership Drive
-- NAHP 2006 Annual Convention, March 29-April 2, 2006, Las Vegas
-- NAHP 2006 Media Summit, May 17-18, 2006, Washington, D.C.
-- NAHP 2006 Chicago Ad Summit, Aug. 24-25, 2006

corporate commitment from Continental is an example for all companies
to consider. It supports professional involvement by small and
disadvantaged businesses in our trade organization; it builds
bonds between Hispanic media and Continental Airlines as an industry
partner; and it highlights NAHP’s intention to act as the
leading light for all Hispanic publications throughout the United
States,” said Lupita Colmenero, President of the Board of
NAHP, Inc.
Continental’s
support will enable the NAHP to grow its membership ranks, particularly
among small and minority-owned publications that may not have
the resources to fully participate in professional training programs
throughout the country, NAHP officials said.
The sponsorship includes
a Continental MeetingWorks discount agreement for NAHP members
traveling to NAHP events and training programs.
Continental offers
nonstop service to 77 destinations in 25 countries in Latin America
and the Caribbean. Continental offers service from the U.S. to
30 destinations in Mexico – more than any other airline
– and also offers nonstop service to more Central American
cities (11) than any other U.S. airline. In December 2005, Continental
began daily nonstop service between Houston and Buenos Aires,
Argentina, the airline’s ninth South American destination.
Continental offers
a number of Spanish-language services, including bilingual flight
attendants on many flights to Latin America; and bilingual airport
personnel, reservations agents and signage. Spanish-language functions
on the continental.com Web site include flight booking, reservation
management, flight and gate information, and OnePass frequent
flyer program enrollment. Passengers also may make reservations
in Spanish at 1-800-537-9222.Continental Airlines has been named
for eight consecutive years to Hispanic Magazine’s list
of “100 Best Companies for Hispanics” (1998-2005).
