1/26/05 - 'Bloodsaves' Public Education Campaign Targets Young Adults to Raise Awareness for Importance of Regular Blood Donation:
NEW YORK, -- To begin fostering a new generation of lifelong blood donors, The Advertising Council, in an unprecedented collaboration with AABB, America's Blood Centers and the American Red Cross, today rolled out a grassroots public education program designed to reach college students and increase their awareness of the importance of regular blood donation. The program is an extension of the "Bloodsaves" campaign, a multi-media public service advertising campaign which launched in September 2004 and presents young adults with a simple yet strong call to action: Save a life. Donate blood. The grassroots program is kicking off today in conjunction with National Volunteer Blood Donor Month. ATLANTA After a review that began with a dozen shops, Blue Sky has retained the creative portion of the Atlanta Braves advertising account, the team said. ... Work on the account will begin immediately, Schiller said. The National League club begins selling 2005 season tickets next week. Media placement is handled through RET Media, a division of Turner Broadcasting System, which owned the team until Time Warner bought the company in 1996 in a $7.5 billion deal that included the Braves. The Braves media buy includes regional television, radio, billboards, newspapers and magazines.
